Here are some big-name comedy shows to put on your calendar this spring. As always, check Gambit listings for your weekly and monthly comedy schedules, from stand-up to sketch, improv and everything else.

H. Jon Benjamin
performs at 8 p.m. March 22 at Tulane University's McAlister Auditorium. The voice actor (Bob on Bob's Burgers, Archer on Archer, an encouraging can of vegetables in Wet Hot American Summer) and regular actor (Master of None, Jon Benjamin Has a Van) performs a free show — doors open at 7:15 p.m. for Tulane faculty, students and staff, and at 7:30 p.m. for the unwashed non-Tulanians.

Chris Rock announced his first stand-up comedy tour in nearly a decade last year, and his "Total Blackout" tour touches down in New Orleans for three shows March 25-27 at the Saenger Theatre. Tickets are $49-$205.

Ben Kronberg headlines the weekly Comedy F— Yeah show at Dragon's Den at 8:30 p.m. March 24. Kronberg and his goofball deadpan appeared on Comedy Central's The Half Hour and thoroughly pissed off Roseanne Barr on Last Comic Standing. Also performing are New Orleans comics Mickey Henehan, Mary-Devon Dupuy and Ted Orphan, with host Vincent Zambon. Tickets $15

Dave Hillwho debuted his Karate Kid-inspired, Phil Anselmo-starring Metal Grasshopper web series in 2014 — returns to New Orleans with a live rendering of his celebrated, insane email chain "The Black Metal Dialogues," in which Hill tries to convince a Norwegian black metal record label to sign his Gary, Indiana "band" Witch Taint. Hill brings “Witch Taint: The Black Metal Dialogues Live!” to One Eyed Jacks at 9 p.m. April 7. Tickets $10.

Comedy Central will tape an upcoming season of its half-hour stand-up series at the Civic Theatre in April. Shows run at 7:30 p.m. April 19 and 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. April 20-22. Tickets are free — reserve them online at

Community and Talk Soup star Joel McHale performs stand-up at One Eyed Jacks Sunday, April 9. He also performed at the 2014 White House Correspondents Dinner and currently stars in the CBS sitcom The Great Indoors.

The Office's Creed Bratton (also named Creed Bratton) brings his one-man show to the Hi-Ho Lounge at 9 p.m. May 10. Bratton's self-referential, partially exaggerated character was a member of the The Grass Roots, much like the real Bratton. He performs storytelling comedy and music. Also on the bill are local comics Vincent Zambon, Laura Sanders, Kamari Stevens and Geoff Gauchet. Tickets $24.42.
