Pulp and Grind, the juice, coffee and pastry hub from the folks behind Satsuma Cafe, is opening a second location in Uptown on April 17.

The new spot, at 5720 Magazine Street, takes over the space formerly occupied by the short-lived HiVolt Bakery expansion, which closed in January, following a brief, one-year run.

Owners Peter and Cassi Dymond opened the flagship Pulp and Grind at 644 Camp Street in 2015. Managing partner and part-owner LaShaun Crawford, who was once the manager at Satsuma Maple, is helming the new location.

The new P and G outpost will feature a menu identical to the Camp Street location, including fresh, cold-pressed juices, scones, biscuits, quiches, bagel bombs, muffins and cookies. The store features a multi-roaster coffee model, which showcases a variety of different coffees from specialty roasters around the country as well as locally.

Pulp and Grind will be open Monday through Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
