  • Primitivo, Adolfo Garcia's Central City restaurant, will close this Saturday, May 20.

Adolfo Garcia' s hearth-focused restaurant Primitivo (1800 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd., 504-881-1775) will close this weekend. The restaurant, which opened two years ago, was part of a string of openings on the developing Central City stretch, including Dryades Public Market and the outdoor food hall Roux Carre.

Chef Nick Martin's cooking garnered accolades from critics who lauded the chefs' use of fire and the restaurant's rustic ethos, in which most dishes passed over a three-piece oven and open grill.

For diners wanting to get one more meal at the restaurant before the shutter, act fast: The restaurant's last day of service is Saturday, March 20, and reservations are nearly completely booked up, according to an employee at the restaurant.

Dave & Buster's, the national video arcade and sports bar chain, will open May 22 at 1200 Poydras St.

The venue will occupy roughly 40,000 square feet on the top floor of the six-story building on the corner of Poydras and Loyola streets. Besides boasting more than 165 different games — which include arcade-style video games, bowling and billiards — the space is decked out with multiple HD televisions for game watching.

The space also features restaurant and bar space, and the menu is mostly a mix of bar food and party-themed pub grub, including a Buffalo wing burger, ancho Caesar lettuce wraps, something called the “Carnivore Pizzadilla” and “legendary” burgers, including the BBBacon Burger, which, according to a press release, features three “different types of bacon!”

Cocktails follow a similarly gimmicky theme. There are adult snow cones and “Glow Kones,” which come with something advertised as a glow cube, plus tiki drinks, “CoronaRitas," and Monster Isle Punches.

The new spot is the 97th location for the national chain, which was founded in Dallas in 1982.

Weekly specials include a daily happy hour with half-price cocktails, $2.50 domestic pints, $1 off 22-ounce draft beers, $1 off glasses of wine and $3 off bottles of wine.

Dave & Buster's will be open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to midnight and Friday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Casamento's (4330 Magazine St., 504-895-9761) shuts its doors this weekend for its annual summer break. So get your oyster-slurping selves to the Uptown institution stat, as the restaurant closes at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 20,
