Bourree (1510 S. Carrollton Ave., 504-510-4040) announced a new series of Sunday pig picking and live music events. The first event is 3 p.m.-6 p.m. Sunday, June 11 with the jazz band Tuba Skinny and a roasted whole hog.

The events take place in Bourree's front patio space. There are 10 beers on tap, most of them from regional breweries including Abita Brewing Company, Second Line Brewing, Port Orleans Brewing Company and Southern Prohibition Brewing. There are $5 fruit daiquiris during the event. Frozen drinks include a hurricane, gin and tonic, strawberry and jalapeno and the Tuckerberry Finn, made with bourbon, amaretto, blackberries and lemon and orange juices. Partygoers also will be able to order chicken wings, po-boys and boudin.

Chef Nathanial Zimet opened Bourree and the neighboring Boucherie. Bourree offers a limited menu of chicken wings and house-made boudin and creative daiquiris.

Zimet will roast a whole hog on Sunday, June 18 as well. Future events may feature lamb or goat.
