With one delightfully warped chord on album opener "Early Morning Riser," Rudy Stone opens a door to his colorfully introspective mind-mirage on The Blinking Light/Peace on Earth (Moderate Fidelity), the latest album from the New Orleans-based songwriter.

Stone celebrates its release with a record release show June 16 alongside two other new New Orleans artists — Shame and dusty_tupelo — also releasing new records this week, each swirling in similarly neo-psychedelic pop circles.

The Blinking Light/Peace on Earth's Side A collects Stone's classically psychedelic-inspired pop, broadcast with a lush assortment of guitars, keyboards and strings, all seamlessly trasitioning from one song to the next. Side B is a 15-minute, meditative instrumental built around a droning organ and decaying echoes. Stream the album below.

Second Hand Shame is the debut EP from Shame, featuring prolific New Orleans songwriter Tyler Scurlock, joined by Spencer Darr, Zachary Meredith and Phil Stafford.

The band centers itself in drowsy, hallucinogenic fuzz-and-reverb pop, fittingly released ahead of a long and humid summer.

Listen to EP opener "Twice" below.

Wrapped up in John Hughes synthesizer sweeps and a Beta Band-sized coda, "Houston, TX" is the first single from New Orleans songwriter dusty_tupelo's upcoming EP One Liners & Bad Advice, due August 17.

Stream the single below.

The bands perform at 9 p.m. Friday, June 16 at Sidney's Saloon (1200 St. Bernard Ave.). Admission $5.
