Comedians Moshe Kasher and Natasha Leggero kick-off their Endless Honeymoon tour in New Orleans Wednesday, July 19 at One Eyed Jacks. New Orleans is a fitting place, since the couple got engaged here the last time they visited (also to perform at One Eyed Jacks).

Kasher had planned on popping the question at dinner at Irene’s Cuisine, they explained in an interview with the couple:

Leggero: Moshe kept asking to move to another table. I was like, “What’s wrong with him.” He was like, “Excuse me, can we move to another table?” He wanted to get the perfect table. But he chickened out.

Kasher: Right. I got the chicken. Really good chicken at Irene’s. But after dinner we went for a walk — right there by Cafe du Monde there’s that bridge to the Mississippi (River levee).
Leggero: Moshe refused to kneel.
Kasher: I didn’t kneel.
Leggero: He really quickly slipped it on the wrong finger.
Kasher: I slipped it on the wrong finger and then I headed up to Bourbon Street to get a hurricane and some jello shots.

The couple wed in California in October 2015. They did a Honeymoon Tour in spring 2016 and spent much of 2016 on their respective main projects. Leggero writes and stars in Another Period, a raunchy and farcical series about rich and debauched socialites in Guilded Age Rhode Island. She also stars as Anthony Dice Clay’s wife, Carmen, on Dice on Showtime.

Kasher writes for Another Period and hosted his own Comedy Central program, Problematic, on which he delved into controversies surrounding issues including the alt-right, the deep web, gun rights and cultural appropriation.

The idea for their Endless Honeymoon tour came from research for Another Period.

Kasher: Natasha and I read about this couple in turn of the century Newport, which is where Natasha’s show takes place.
Leggero: They got married, and after their marriage they went on a 10-year honeymoon. They came back with four kids. It seemed like such a glamorous way to live.
Kasher: Right. To never stop having a honeymoon. So since we’re touring comedians, and the worst part of being a touring comedian is the loneliness on the road — we thought: Why not get married and we can tour with each other. It will be an endless honeymoon. So we only go to places that we want to visit. We’re going to some of the most beautiful places on the East Coast and Midwest and South — also Milwaukee.

In their home in Los Angeles, the two both do stand up a couple times a week at the Comedy Store. On tour, they both do a solo set and then offer advice to couples in the audience.

Kasher: We troubleshoot people’s relationships. It’s a lot of fun because everyone has a pet peeve that’s easy to solve. Like, “I don’t like the cat sleeping on the bed.”
Or, “I got my wife a great gift. It was a vibrator. But she didn’t like it.” One time we had a guy who said, “My dad never touched me until I was 13.” We were like, “We can’t help you.”
Leggero: A woman will be raising her hand and the husband doesn’t want to come up but she clearly has something she needs to talk about. We try to make it equal and work out a good barter.
Kasher: Most of the point is to have fun and humiliate people in a room full of strangers, which I think everyone can appreciate.

Have they ever accepted advice? “When a couple has been married long enough, we’ll turn the tables,” Kasher says. “But in general, regular people just aren’t quite as clever as us. So we keep that to a minimum.”
