Five dining and drinking events to get you through the week and into the Labor Day weekend.

Wednesday, Aug. 30

Meauxbar’s (942 N. Rampart St., 504-569-9979) summer dinner series continues with a   four-course inner celebrating the Muppets’ 40th anniversary. No word on what’s in store for the $50 per person deal, but a release from the restaurant says the menu will be “filled with fun, color, playfulness and wonder,” and have guests. Also on Wednesday, Galatoire’s 33 Bar & Steak (215 Bourbon St., 504-335-3932) is holding the second-to-last in its summer wine dinner series. Wednesday’s event will pair the wines of Burgundy with dishes from Executive Chef Michael Sichel. Dishes include a smoked Louisiana crab crepe with brown butter, a boudin Scotch egg with chicken veloute, and savory bread pudding with braised short rib and wild mushroom au jus, among others. Tickets for the dinner are $125 and can be purchased here.

Saturday, Sept. 2

Uptown cocktail lounge Cure (4905 Freret St., 504-302-2357) is throwing a fundraiser for the American Red Cross of Houston to benefit the flood victims of Hurricane Harvey. The family-friendly event will feature red beans, cocktails and cornbread from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets are $20 at the door and $10 for kids 5 and older.

Also on Saturday, the folks behind Lakeshore Landing (6401 Stars and Stripes Blvd.), a waterfront event space slated to open in Spring 2018, will host a sneak peak of the grounds and progress with live music, food trucks, specialty cocktails and craft beers. The concert runs from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., will feature music from Naughty Professor and The Fortifiers. The event is free and a $5 parking fee per vehicle will go toward the Tipitina’s Foundation. Monday, Sept. 4

From 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., the folks at Port Orleans Brewing Co. and The Stokehold restaurant (4124 Tchoupitoulas St., 504-266-2332) host the Labor Day event Blues, Beer and Wing Thing at the Tchoupitoulas Street brewery space. New beer Blueberry Thrill Lager will be on tap, and a wing cook-off will pit chefs Philip Mosely of Blue Oak BBQ, Boucherie’s Nathanial Zimet, Central City BBQ’s Aaron Burgau, Mike Stoltzfus of Coquette and MoPho and Maypop’s Michael Gulotta against each other to see who can cook the best wings. Live music from Marc Stone, John Fohl and the Sean Riley Blues Band will be playing throughout the day.
