La Divina Café e Gelateria (621 St. Peter St.) has closed.

The French Quarter cafe, which specialized in house-made gelato, espresso drinks and Sicilian treats, closed its Magazine Street location in 2014. The owners of the French Quarter location, David and Ruth Marinello, made the announcement that they were shuttering their St. Peter Street cafe Thursday by email.

Below, the full statement from the owners:
After ten years in the French Quarter La Divina Café e Gelateria has decided to call it quits. We’ve had a wonderful time, made many friends and provided both locals and tourist with the best homemade gelato, espresso and Sicilian specialties available in New Orleans. Whether you were a loyal customer or a one time visitor, we thank you for your patronage and hope you have enjoyed yourselves as much as we enjoyed serving you.
Good Bye and Good Fortune to all!

David & Ruth Marinello
